I was going in for my second back surgery to just remove hardware from a previous surgery. The recovery period for this would only be three weeks or so and would require minimal physical therapy. I went in for tests the day before my surgery, and on surgery day they told me that there was more serious things going on and the operation would be quite a bit more extensive. My recovery time would now be from three to six months off of work.
